Editorial illustration and design for WBUR’s political newsletter.
I created a custom header illustration and layout for WBUR’s Mass. Politics email newsletter, designed to increase reader engagement and bring visual impact to a key editorial product. The goal was to reflect the urgency and complexity of Massachusetts politics while reinforcing WBUR’s refreshed brand identity.
Collaborating closely with the editorial and product teams, I focused on incorporating the iconic gold dome of the Massachusetts State House — a recognizable symbol for the audience — to anchor the design and immediately signal the newsletter’s focus.
This illustration not only elevated the visual identity of the newsletter but also played a role in expanding WBUR’s new brand system across digital platforms, helping to maintain editorial trust while introducing a more dynamic and cohesive visual experience.
