CogniToys represent a leap forward in educational play—the world’s first “smart toys” capable of engaging children in real-time, speech-based dialogue. Powered by the Friendgine platform, these toys aren’t just playthings; they are evolving learning companions.
I was tasked with developing a visual language that felt both cutting-edge and approachable for families. My work on the project encompassed the full tactile experience:
- Character Illustrations: Creating friendly, expressive visuals that give the “Friendgine” technology a relatable and trustworthy face for children.
- Instructional Design: Developing an intuitive, kid-friendly booklet that simplifies complex setup and interaction steps for parents and children alike.
- Retail Packaging: Designing high-impact box packaging that highlights the product’s “smart” capabilities while maintaining the warmth expected of a toy-aisle staple.
Being part of a project recognized by TIME Magazine was a masterclass in User Experience (UX) for physical products, ensuring that the first “handshake” between a child and their AI companion was seamless, safe, and fun.
