In 2011, Mimoco teamed up with the FriendsWithYou art collective to transform their signature “Magic, Luck, and Friendship” philosophy into a series of blind-box USB flash drives. Designing the packaging for this collaboration was an exercise in pure joy, leaning into a vibrant, neon-soaked palette that matched the collective’s cheerful aesthetic.
To elevate the unboxing experience, I integrated silver foil highlights across the starry patterns and technical details. This tactile touch brought the “cosmic” elements to life and created a premium feel for the mystery-reveal format. From the individual windowless boxes to the retail counter displays, every element was designed to spark curiosity and capture the whimsical spirit of the FriendsWithYou universe.
