In honor of President’s Day 2013, Mimoco took a step back into the history books to launch the George Washington MIMOBOT. As part of our “Legends of MIMOBOT” line, the challenge was to take a figure typically seen on currency and oil paintings and reimagine him through a playful, modern lens.
This project was a fun exercise in historical character design. I focused on translating Washington’s most recognizable features—the powdered wig, the Continental Army uniform, and that stoic expression—into our signature form factor. It was a unique way to celebrate a national holiday by merging educational heritage with functional, collectible technology.
Whether for history buffs or tech enthusiasts, this design proved that even the most “traditional” figures can find a fresh life in the world of designer tech.
