For the third year running, I had the pleasure of partnering with Massachusetts College of Art & Design through their Illustration Professional Freelance Studio program. The challenge for these emerging artists? Illustrating the 2024 holiday card for WBUR.
Throughout February, I joined Professor Irena Roman’s class in-person at MassArt to lead creative direction and provide feedback as the artists moved from initial concepts to final sketches. It was such an inspiring experience — mentorship is a two-way street, and the level of talent in the room was truly impressive.
Below are the two illustrations that ultimately won over the entire team. Both pieces perfectly captured the spirit of the season and the heart of WBUR.
